Julián Ruiz is partner at Perez & Co. and leads the firm's Intellectual Property, Entertainment Law, and Emerging Technologies practices. With more than 13 years of experience at leading intellectual property firms and Colombia's National Copyright Directorate, Julián has built a strong reputation advising domestic and international companies, government entities, audiovisual producers, artists, and businesses in the technology, media, film and television, music, advertising, and consumer goods sectors.

Julián has managed large international trademark portfolios and advised major international audiovisual production companies on contractual structuring. He has also negotiated agreements with numerous collective management organizations and holders of copyright and related rights; designed, structured, and negotiated technology agreements; drafted and updated terms and conditions and privacy policies for technology companies; and handled high-stakes disputes and litigation involving trademarks, patents, copyright, and image rights. Through this work, he has secured preliminary injunctions and landmark rulings.
